The Home Depot debuted a new retail concept called “Fuel” in 2006
— a one-stop-shop for contractors and others to purchase coffee,
beverages, gas and snacks, along with building supplies. However,
the 2008 recession hit Home Depot’s core customer and plans were
greatly scaled back. Out of hundreds of sites to be built, just a handful remain today, with no plans for future development.
