Although at sea level in Miami, industry leaders at the NACS Leadership Forum gathered in February to talk about industry-changing issues at 30,000 feet. With the event’s theme of Visions of the Future to guide them, attending leaders tackled evolving consumer perception, social media, big data and innovation as well as enjoyed several stellar net- working opportunities.
On day one, NACS Chairman Brad Call, vice president of adventure culture at Maver-
ik, welcomed the more than 140 invitation-only retail leaders and thanked the Hunter
Club and supplier companies in attendance: “We would not be here without our supplier
partners; you walk hand in hand with us to make our industry second to none.”
Call then introduced the event’s moderator — Peter Tedeschi, president and CEO of
Tedeschi Food Shops — who articulated why folks were in attendance: “We’re reinvent-
ing ourselves; you are leading the charge and you get it. The investment of your time at
this event makes you a better leader and your operations better performing.”
