IDEAS TO GO
Farmers pick up bags of ice early in the

Abshire’s owner Leshaea Hargrave prepares

Abshire’s Corner Store in Meaux, Louisiana, has been serving up convenience for more than 60
years, as well as providing staples such as coffee and ice, both of which are sold via the honor system.
Seventeen years ago, Leshaea Hargrave took over the store, introduced foodservice and has created a
simple, local atmosphere for customers to sit down and eat a home-cooked meal.
