GRAB & GO
A new merchandising solution, On the Road Again (OTRA) by The
Cola-Cola Company is being tested in 37 Kum & Go convenience stores
in five markets.
OTRA’s sleek cooler is designed to capture impulse buys, enhance
foodservice offers and give shoppers an easy snack and meal option.
The cooler also features a 10-inch video screen for promotional
messaging and holds up to 126 20-oz. packaged beverages. Five
exterior shelves on either side can be stocked with products such as
sweet and salty snack foods and candy.
“From our perspective, OTRA promotes combo sales, brings
attention to our foodservice operations and provides a convenient,
time-saving process for our shoppers,” said Kum & Go Category
Manager Richard Ginther.
OTRA is one of several new concepts emerging from Coke’s
seven-month-old Shopper Experience Innovation Center, a dynamic,
multi-channel facility that allows Coke and its retail partners to test
new ideas and merchandising solutions in a mock retail setting.
